About Gallant Government and Law Group

Gary GallantGary Gallant’s successful 30 year career in government affairs and law demonstrates that effective Washington advocacy demands a combination of high-level contacts across all branches and agencies of government, bipartisan access and relationships, and (most importantly) the ability and desire to “dig deep” into complex issues, truly understanding the client’s stake in a matter, and charting a thoughtful and deliberate course to achieve objectives and ultimately provide the client with a tangible return on investment.

Gary launched the Gallant Government & Law Group in February 2018 after more than 19 years in “big Washington law.” As an attorney for some of the world’s largest law firms, including Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Bingham McCutchen, and Swidler, Berlin, Shereff, Friedman, Gary led successful lobbying campaigns on some of the most high profile matters in a generation.

For Example:
  • 2000-2001: Gary represented an international commercial airline in a transaction to acquire a major competitor;
  • 2001-2009: Gary represented a coalition of Fortune 100 companies that sought to advance reforms to asbestos litigation procedures;
  • 2004-2017: Gary represented the largest VoIP provider in the nation as it sought to preempt state regulation and promote network neutrality principles;
  • 2007-2008: Gary represented employees of Enron in the government’s investigation into the failed energy company;
  • 2008-2009: Gary represented a professional players’ union before Congress in the performance enhancing substances investigation;
  • 2010-2011: Gary represented an international drilling firm in the government’s response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico;
  • 2013-2014: Gary represented a technology based company that sought to provide customers over-the-air television on Internet-connected devices;
  • 2015-2017: Gary represented a fantasy sports contest provider as Congress considered regulating the industry.

Gary’s law practice also flourished during these big firm years, advising dozens of clients on complex and high-stakes campaign finance rules, regulations, and compliance. Over the years, Gary started and managed robust political action committees (PACs) for many corporate clients. His motto in these sensitive matters is “to always be conservative and stay out of the press.” Gary is also one of the leading Washington experts on the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA), the Congressional and Executive Branch Gift Rules, and congressional ethics.

Prior to jumping into the private sector in 1999, Gary served as the Chief of Staff to Representative Jim Saxton of New Jersey. In that capacity, Gary had oversight responsibilities for the Congressman’s legislative and political agenda. He drafted the Congressman’s press releases and managed three of his successful reelection campaigns. Gary remains politically active in Republican circles and regularly assists the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee with voter integrity legal operations.

Gary is a licensed and practicing attorney in the District of Columbia, the State of New Jersey, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also licensed to appear before the United States Supreme Court. He earned his J.D. at Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey.

Gary and his wife Trish live in Annapolis, Maryland with their three children, Gabrielle, Grace & Jack. In his free time, Gary enjoys coaching baseball and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams.
